S3 Satcom to
Provide Teleport for CBS News
S3
Satcom, the Essex based Satellite
Communications Specialists, have been awarded a contract worth over £0.5
Million by CBS News in London. The work covers the supply and integration of a
teleport facility to be located at the CBS News media centre in Chiswick Park,
London. When complete, early in 2005, the teleport will form the hub of CBS
News’ operations in Europe.
The
systems to be supplied include 4 x 4.9m antennas and 4 x 2.4m antennas along
with associated ground communications equipment. The entire teleport will be
controlled by S3 Satcom’s ‘Fiesta’ Software based Remote Control and
Monitoring System.
This
major contract was awarded to S3 Satcom after a stiff tender competition.

S3 Satcom Wins Earth
Station Contract from BBC
S3 Satcom, the Essex
based Satellite Communications Specialists, have been awarded a contract by BBC
Technology for the supply and integration of a Ku-Band earth station which will
be located at BBC Technology’s Brookmans Park teleport north of London.
The system includes a cabin containing ground communications
equipment and a 5.6m antenna. The earth station will be used for the BBC’s
regional and national TV news feeds.
