S3 Satcom offers the Broadcast and Telecommunications market a complete range of turnkey solutions to meet their communications needs. Products include Fixed Earth Station systems, VSAT Networks and Remote Control Software. The Company also provides Maintenance and Installation Services.
By providing a very cost effective tracking solution for small VSAT antennas, the door is now open for VSAT networks or broadcast contribution links to take advantage of the lower price space segment on inclined orbit satellites. Three axis motorization allows the antenna to operate with a number of different satellites both inclined and station-kept. Variable speed motors provide rapid slewing coupled with fine control for signal optimization. The controller uses ephemeris data from the internet to track the satellite rather than conventional step-tracking using a beacon receiver.
Using the full range of earth station components available on the market, S3 Satcom undertakes the design, build, installation and commissioning of small and medium sized satellite earth station systems. Typical applications include TV contribution uplinks, TV distribution networks, Direct to Home TV broadcast uplinks, data networks and national/international telephony networks.
S3 Satcom offers VSAT systems which operate using frame relay and includes SCPC, MCPC and DAMA with time division multiple access technology. This technology is ideal for small to medium sized networks and provides computer and voice connections to bespoke national and international networks in both the commercial and government market sectors.
S3 Satcom has its own state of the art software system for the control and monitoring of Fixed Earth Station systems and VSAT networks. Running on a windows platform the software utillises the latest techniques including SNMP. A familiar graphical interface ensures ease of use whilst comprehensive logging coupled with user configurable password protected access provides the system manager with full control of the system operation
