Each system is custom designed by S3 Satcom’s professional team of engineers. They undertake all the system calculations ensuring maximum operating efficiency. The production team oversee all aspects of the equipment integration. Quality is controlled throughout the design and build process ensuring optimum system performance and reliability.

Applications include audio contribution and distribution networks, corporate networks providing voice, fax, video conferencing and LAN connectivity and IP backbone connection. Typical customers range from health clubs and retail outlets through to ISPs, air traffic control operators and the offshore communications industry.

The use of Frame Relay technology permits reduced space segment and hardware costs. The multiplexing and routing capabilities of such equipment allows all outbound traffic types for all destinations to be transmitted on a single carrier which is received by all remote terminals and routed to the correct receive port. Frame Relay Access Devices (FRADs) also incorporate voice codecs to provide efficient speech compression using the industry standard G729 protocol. A wide range of data protocols and voice signalling standards are supported and this coupled with the ability to prioritize voice traffic over other, less delay-critical data makes the FRAD a very powerful solution for a wide range of communication requirements.

S3 Satcom’s in-house remote control and monitoring system provides a user friendly interface for the monitoring and control of all the equipment within the earth station. The bespoke software runs on a supervisor computer with common single or multiple workstation clients which can be located anywhere so long as there is a LAN or modem connection to the supervisor. Features of the RM&C software include redundancy control, comprehensive event logging facilities, extensive user assigned password protection and the ability to switch equipment into maintenance mode.

Telephone support is also available from S3 Satcom’s engineers who can be available for local assistance if required at short notice. Comprehensive training can be given either in the factory or on-site by our experienced technicians and engineers. All systems are provided complete with extensive handbooks and drawings ensuring hassle-free fault finding and rectification.
